Does your firm have a program to improve work-life balance?
Response
9.
If you answered "yes" to question 8, what are the
components?
Selected
Responses:
-
Reduce commuting time through
work-at-home programs.
-
Accumulation of comp time and
culture that respects time off/vacation so one is not called during
that time.
-
They offer a monetary
incentive to participate in an exercise program.
-
Flexible work schedules,
family friendly culture, family inclusion in company events, support
for unpaid leave if needed and Employee Assistance Program.
-
We are launching a
"Flexible Work Arrangement" program which includes an
option for employees to adjust their working hours to personal needs
(i.e. start working day earlier or later depending on the personal
inconstancies), allows a sabbatical leave option for employees with
seniority of 5+ years with the company and potentially a work from
home option when the technical solution will be found.
-
We are a small firm, therefore,
we have a personal philosophy as a part of our mission statement to
ensure the happiness of our partners and employees.
-
Flex time in office, work at
home, focus on getting tasks done rather then where they get done.
-
It is more talk than action!
-
Some work at home options for
lower level managers and staff or working mothers. Emphasis on
"family" is part of values, however, there is not an
equivalent for single persons who have equivalent scheduling
problems or life demands.
-
It is self dependent.
-
Ill defined...They promised
work life balance and repeatedly demand something for tomorrow when
a plate is already overflowing. I work globally and global work is
more time intensive, due to time zone, communication, organizational,
and other issues. Global people are supposed to do this and still be
available for full time commitments on a US time zone schedule.
Completely unrealistic.
-
Lot's
of communications to: make leaders and employees more sensitive to
the need for work-life balance, encouraging buddy-systems,
encouraging employees to take personal time, encouraging employees
to turn off their computers and PDAs during their personal days.
-
Company
sponsored workshops.
